TOEFL is an English proficiency test used by students and professionals worldwide. Facing fierce competition and a website not optimized for commerce, ETS needed to unlock revenue potential through TOEFL's Test Prep products.

My Role
The original journey was convoluted and required users to be logged in to shop Test Prep products. We created consumer-facing PLP and PDP’s for a more familiar e-commerce experience, mirroring the flows and UX patterns that shoppers are used to.

We created PDP's for each individual Test Prep product, which did not exist prior to our engagement. Taking cues from other best in class e-commerce experiences, we included a course overview, product recommendations, and customer reviews.

Mini Cart
In our effort to create a best-in-class e-commerce experience, we also introduced a Mini Cart. Mini Carts allow users to compare products contextually and see their Cart items at a glance, effectively speeding up the checkout process.

Component System
As we designed pages, we also created a design system in Figma to standardize our components and styles. This led to efficiency for the design team as well as the dev team, keeping our work both consistent and reusable.

The Results
As of Fall 2025, the TOEFL website work is still in development and is slated to go live in 2026. The e-commerce pages we designed will be used as a benchmark for other ETS brands, such as GRE and Praxis.
