Bundles on the Bose site were not performing well. We were tasked with finding ways to improve conversion for bundled products, and uncover new opportunities to upsell them within the consumer journey.

My role was to audit the existing experience, determine pain points and opportunities, and visualize future-facing methods to showcase the Bundles category on the site.

Through our research, we found that Bundles were not being surfaced in key areas of the site. We also noticed that many of them lacked discounts, or a strong use case to entice the user to purchase.

Key Improvements

We sought to improve discoverability by placing Bundles in areas where products are recommended, such as the PDP and product carousels. Comingling these products in existing modules reduced the need for layout changes or additional dev work.

We also modified the Bundles PDP by combining description modules, reducing page height and making the content more relevant to the bundle itself, rather than the individual products it contains.

Future-facing Concepts

The Bose team requested that we look into what a "Build Your Own Bundle" experience could be. Using an individual product PDP as an entry point, a CTA would lead to an opportunity to create their own tailored bundle.

The Results

After our engagement, the internal team at Bose carried our work even further. They made discounts more prevalent (22 out of 24 in total), and eliminated low-performing Bundles. On the PLP, they categorized Bundles by use case, such as Travel and Home Theater.
